FAQs
If you’re considering brand photography, design, or a creative direction session, you might have a few questions. Here are some of the things people often ask.
General
What types of businesses do you work with?
Candid Studio works with a wide range of small businesses, including creatives, service-based businesses, product brands and wedding suppliers.
If you care about how your brand looks and want visuals that reflect the quality of your work, we’ll likely be a good fit.
Where are you based?
Candid Studio is based in South Wales and works with businesses across the UK.
Brand photography sessions can take place at your workspace, studio, home office or another location that suits your brand.
How do I get started?
The easiest way to begin is by filling out the contact form.
Once I’ve reviewed your enquiry, I’ll get back to you within a couple of working days and we can arrange a short discovery call if needed.
Brand Photography
I feel awkward in front of the camera – is that a problem?
Not at all. Most small business owners feel this way at first.
The sessions are relaxed and guided, and we focus on natural moments rather than stiff poses. My aim is always to help you feel comfortable so the images feel genuine.
What should I wear for a brand shoot?
Once your session is booked, I’ll share guidance to help you choose clothing that works well on camera and fits your brand.
Simple, comfortable outfits that reflect your everyday style usually work best.
Can we include products or services in the shoot?
Yes. Brand photography often includes a mix of portraits, products, workspace imagery and behind-the-scenes moments.
Before the shoot we’ll plan what makes the most sense for your business.
Can the images be used for marketing and advertising?
Yes — the images from your session can be used across your website, social media and marketing materials.
If you need imagery for larger commercial campaigns or advertising projects, we can discuss licensing separately.
I’m not sure what we would photograph – is that a problem?
Not at all. Most brand photography sessions start with exactly this question.
Before the shoot, we’ll plan everything together. We’ll talk about your business, how you work, and where the images will be used — whether that’s your website, social media or marketing.
From there we create a simple shot list that might include a mix of portraits, products, workspace imagery and behind-the-scenes moments.
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out — that’s something we’ll plan together.
Do I need a big studio or beautiful workspace?
Not at all. Many brand sessions take place in small studios, home offices or everyday workspaces.
Sometimes we also use nearby locations or simple environments that reflect your brand.
The goal isn’t perfection, it’s capturing the real atmosphere of your business.
Brand Design
Do I need a full rebrand?
Not necessarily. Some businesses need a completely new identity, while others only need a small refresh to bring things together more clearly.
We can talk through what makes the most sense for your business.
What will I receive at the end of a design project?
You’ll receive all of your brand assets along with guidance on how to use them.
This typically includes logo files, colour palettes, typography choices and a short brand guide.
Can photography be included in a design project?
Yes. Brand photography works very well alongside brand design and can often be planned as part of a larger project.
Creative Direction Sessions
What is a Creative Direction Session?
A Creative Direction Session is a focused 90-minute conversation where we look at your current branding and visuals together.
The goal is to help you see your brand more clearly and identify the next steps, whether that’s photography, design or small improvements.
Is this a coaching session?
No — the focus is on the creative and visual side of your brand.
We look at things like branding, imagery, websites and visual consistency rather than business strategy.
Booking & Process
How far in advance should I book?
For photography sessions, it’s best to book a few weeks in advance if possible, especially during busy periods.
Design projects can usually begin within a few weeks depending on availability.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is required to secure photography sessions and design projects.
Full details are shared when booking.
Do you offer payment plans?
For larger projects, payment can often be split into stages.
